Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

Remember the violet-coloured Fox's candy in blackcurrant flavor? I haven't bought candy in ages but that is totally what I can think of whenever I smell Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly! I was actually a bit apprehensive on trying this at first but knowing that I am crazy of anything Lush, I gave in!

"If a bar of soap and a bottle of shower gel had a steamy affair, this would be the resulting jelly, baby." :D

Lush is fond of creating products that are on the quirky side and this is just one of them. So what exactly is a shower jelly? Much like its name suggests, it is a jello that you use in the shower to clean your hot body with! :) It is addicting to play with and poke on like what my little sister is always doing.

You can use it directly as how one would normally use a soap. But this is so wobbly that I find it impossible to do that. You might just end up with the whole blob on the bathroom floor (eeek - just saying from experience!) ;) I learned that the best and practical way is by cutting chunks of it and then crushing them into your loofah. By doing this, I was able to lather it effectively and produce soft, fragrant bubbles.

I use two chunks of like a cm each for my whole body as I want my shower time to be very bubbly but you can cleanse even with just one.

The scent as I say smells akin to a blackcurrant candy, thanks to the cassis absolute in it. Other key ingredients included are cherry infusion which makes it fruity and luxurious; bergamot oil as it is cleansing and uplifting; cypress oil for its calming and toning properties and coconut infusion and seaweed extract helps make the skin feel soft and moisturized. There are glitters scattered throughout which will not cling to your skin, thankfully, but for me it gives that element of fun! Please do note that there are SLS and parabens in this product which might be disturbing to some. I am not that strict in that aspect so I don't mind.

Seeing that this is a rather unusual product, I guess not all will like this. Even my Mom is not a fan. Having the extra step of preparing and cutting chunks of the product beforehand might discourage those who just want a breezy, fast shower. However, I suggest you try it at least once, even just for the novelty of it! As for me, I will continue purchasing any shower jelly Lush will create. Right now, they only offer two scents - the other one being Whoosh shower jelly which has a refreshing lemongrass scent. I once had The Jilted Elf shower jelly which was part of their Christmas line two years ago.

Lush says to freeze it which makes it apt during summer months. What do you think of a chilly shower in this humid weather?

Lush Christmas 2013 Collection - Shower Products

Cola-flavoured lip scrub? Uh, sign me up for that!

Lush surely knows what they are doing. I can't help but get all googly eyes with this year's collection! It is hard to decide, I must say, but one thing is for sure. Lush Santa's lip scrub will be mine this Christmas! Knowing me, I'll probably throw in a shower gel too. :)

Angel’s Delight		Snow Cake
The golden moon featured on this fruity soap was inspired by Mark and Mo’s (Lush co-founders) trip to Venice. Hey were enchanted by a painting with the exact same design. Tangerine and orange oils provide the lovely fragrance.		Snow Cake is a true classic and a Lush bestseller. A slice of Snowcake soap smells like almond and marzipan, so irresistible! Rose essentials and cassie absolute soften dry, chapped winter skin. Snowcake is simply mouthwatering!
Orange Jelly		Noriko
A seaweed-based jelly with freshly squeezed orange juice, Brazilian orange oil and fresh orange slices. It’s all about the oranges!		Named after the Japanese inventor of soap with Japanese ingredients such as sake, tofu and rice.
Mr. Punch		Snow Globe
This fruity cocktail features juniperberry-, lime- and coconut- oil, blackcurrant absolute and gin. The soap resembles an upside-down punch bowl, so the extra shot of gin is a must. Mr Punch helps soften and cleanse the skin.		A soap in the shape of a snow globe with white circles to imitate snowflakes. Its lemon myrtle, grapefruit oil and ylang ylang scent is perfect to wake up with on a cold winter morning.

The dash of tequila will only increase the party feeling. Snow Fairy A festive fave! This year, Snow Fairy’s non-biological glitter is substituted by environmentally friendly shimmering luster. No worries though, this bubblegum shower gel still keeps its sweet and magical scent.

Oatmeal and calamine powder help soften the skin, while lavender oil helps balance the skin. Green tea powder helps fight free radicals. Christmas to me, by default, equates to Lush goodies! No wonder when I heard that it is only 85 days before this special day, I found myself searching for Lush Christmas offerings this year. Excited much, I know. But I have a soft heart when it comes to Lush that even my family's so tired of hearing me praising the brand!

Whenever I start talking about Lush... they turn Snape on me! ;)

I've been a fan of Garnier ever since it came to our country! But it was only my last year in college (two years ago) that I religiously used the products day and night. These helped brighten my face and in a way, prevented me from breaking out during stress week! Lush Philippines Annual Sale 2013

First post! :)

Even though I love Lush this big, my wallet is getting slimmer and slimmer every time I shop there! This year Lush Philippines Annual Sale starts from January 10 to 31. They rarely go on sale. So come January, I always get giddy because I know it's that time once again!

If you are not familiar with Lush, it's basically a bath and body shop which originated from the UK and uses fresh, natural ingredients. No, they are not fully organic if you are into that kind but still their handmade products are better than those full of synthetic ingredients. That's why Lush doesn't come cheap especially to us hard-working ladies. :)

I visited two Lush stores, Trinoma and SM North Edsa, on the first day of sale. But I bought my stuff from the latter since they have more items available.
